Dear Joey, Firstly let me say how much i enjoy reading your column in the sunday papers. I am so GRATEFUL that you do not recommend all those enhancers - i have got tired of buying them......learnt the hard way ! My question: What animal signs are my two sons under, the first whose birthdate is 8th January 1975 and the second whose birthdate is 9th February 1983. I was told you have to see when the Chinese New Year was in that year of their births before you know which is their animal sign. I cannot remember when CNY was in those years hence my need to know. Could you pls help me out so that i can do the right thing for them?. Wishing you a really happy New Year and God bless. Sincerely yrs.........Davinder

Hi SiFu, I just finish read your Xuan Kong Flying Star Feng Shui. It is very easy to understand. In the section for Application of Flying Star, you mention to use sitting star and facing star to locate the main door, bedroom and kitchen. My house belong to Period 8, facing SE2, sitting NW2, and I can using the Flying Start Chart (pg165) to find out each sititing and facing star #. My questions are: 1. Does this mean this chart can be use until 2023? 2. Then, in your later article on “Feng Shui, Ready for the Rat”, the number inside each palace is not same with the Flying Start Chart? What the number refer to for each palace – sitting or facing star? 3. Flying star change palace every year and your book did not touch about this. What book do you recommended to further enhance my knowledge in this area. A little bit confuse when want to fly the star! Regards, Kenny

Hello Joey, I just purchased your book on introduction to Xuan Kong Flying Stars Feng Shui and I just need clarification from you regarding the process of determining the Period Luck of a building. I bought an old bungalow about a year or so ago. Now I really do not know when was it first occupied, that is whether it was in period 6 or period 7. Now I am going to embark on a major renovation ( retaining much of the original structure on the ground floor but doing much renovation on the first floor so much so to the extent of changing even the roof formation of the building ) and I really want to be clear with which Period Luck should I use to evaluate this building complete with the renovation. Since it's a fairly extensive renovation, should I look at it from the point as I will be the first occupant once the reno is completed hence a period 8 building or it still needs to be refered as either a period 6 or 7 building? . Your speedy advise would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Ronn

Dear Joey, I read your Bazi-Destiny Code Revealed book and thoroughly enjoyed it. In applying some of the concepts to my own Bazi, I come away rather confused. Hope you can give me your valuable advise. 1. My day master is Yi wood (Yi Si pillar) but as my hour is Geng Chen, does the Yi-Geng transform to metal? However, being born in summer (Bing Wu), which is not supportive of metal, will the transformation occur? 2. My other query is that there is a lack of water and too much fire in my chart (Year pillar is Ding Si). As the only water is Gui hidden in the "tomb" of Chen in my hour pillar, does this make my chart follow the leader of Fire or is it still considered very weak wood? 3. I read in some books that Yi Si day pillar coupled with Geng Chen hour will never be successful in life, which is very depressing. Is it true? Many thanks, Choy

Dear Joey, I attended your event last Sunday, & I'm totally awed by your knowledge on feng shui, unfortunately you forgot to mention any good time to start work after CNY, it could be you were irritated by the organiser who messed up your slide. Wish you well, thanks

Joey, My wife and myself attended your Good year to Great Year seminar last week and I found that we have learned much about the basic understanding of classical Fung Shui. In the seminar, you did mentioned about the the bad chi of sitting on the South position. I would like to check with you, at the moment my childrens' room is sitting directly on the south is there anything we can or should do about it? As mentioned also by you about those "year Breaker", "Wu capital heaven sha", "big mishap" and "5 Yellow" being in this direction I surely hope that you can give us some solution to our question. Both my wife and myself have also signed up for your Fung Shui for life course in May. By completing this course are we able to improve our luck by applying the classical fung chui understanding? thank you

Hi Master Joey Yap, I recently began learning Classical Feng Shui through Level I Introductory Courses Online. First I have to tell you that I am very happy to study under someone who is well versed in Knowledge of this Science. It helps me to be confident in that I am learning from good foundational knowledge. I enjoy new age Feng Shui; however, i do understand that one must have a good foundation of strong factual and beginning knowledge to grow outward into the bloom. That is the whole reason I take courses under your instruction. The reason I am writing....oh thank you for sharing your knowledge with me through Mastery Academy Online here in America...I enjoyed the lesson on Yin and Yang...your video instruction mentioned that paint colors cannot be Yin nor Yang (Qi). If I may with all due respect interject a thought looking for the correct answer, I have studied color to some degree...this is my question.....oh i hope it is ok to ask this question on your blog...if color (pigments) reflect light rays (waves) where magenta has the longest reaching waves, then would warm colors produce Yang within Yin if a room is say...gloomy (Yin)? Where the reflection (yang) off the Yin(pigment) could be considered active?

I am a follower of your Feng Shui artical in the Sunday Star and your web site. On your last issue - It's Animal Book Time - your did mention about the 'Shi Er Sui Jun' method to trigger the "Sun Star" on a specific date to overcome the negative influence on the 'Tai Sui'. Can I have more information on this please? Thanks

Dear Joey I've just purchased your 2008 Tong Shu and well, I was just studying the different aspects of it when I chanced upon something. I was following the daily Lo Shu numbers page by page when I noticed that on two dates, 21 June 2008 and 21 December 2008, there was something different about their daily Lo Shu numbers compared to the other days of the year. On 21 June 2008, the Lo Shu number of the day (top left hand corner of the centre grid) shows 5/5. On 21 December 2008, it shows 2/8. I've also noticed that before 21 June 2008, the daily Lo Shu numbers run upwards i.e 1,2,3, etc. And after that, they run downwards i.e 3,2,1, etc. And the same for 21 December 2008. After this date, the daily numbers run upwards again. I was just wondering why this is the case. Is it because 21 June is somewhat the cut-off date for the first half of the Chinese year? And 21 December is the cut-off date for the second half? That's why there is a change in the direction of the Lo Shu numbers? I would greatly appreciate it if you could explain this to me. So sorry to disturb you, Joey. Thanks a lot. Oliver Sayson

Dear Master Joey, I have just bought a Period 7 house facing NE1and intend to shift in after painting and doing minor renovation. The sector I am going to renovate is the front and the back portion of the house. Since I have not shifted in yet, will the renovation work offend the Grand Duke, Five Yellow and Three Killings? Although I have read a few of your books, I couldn't find the answer to the above question. An early reply will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

dear Joey, my name is james leong, since i read your book about bazi, i'm now 'addicted' to it. So the best way to delve deeper into this is to analyse my own ming-pan. and now please allow me to ask you a few questions regarding Bazi ming-pan. 1) I'm born 16 may 1977, because i believe i was born after summer, therefore i should consider myself is in the month of 'snake' and not dragon. am i rite?.. 2) In your book you always stressed that a ming-pan 'strong' or 'weak' is ultimately affected by the seoson of the month, so therefore i belive i was born in the month of summer which is hot while my day-master is yin-water. So am i considered to be 'weak'? since i am surrounded with fire (year element) and wood(month element)? 3) My last question is that i belive my day-master (zhi) which is yau(chicken) does combine with my month (zhi) which is ji (sanke) and turn into gold as you you describe in your book as (half meet gold combination). does this apply in my bazi and turn my month weather from summer hot to autum gold? please advice. thank you. regards, james 3)

Dear Joey, I've read your books on Exterior and Interior Feng Shui and I must say, Feng Shui has never been more logical. I have some concerns pertaining my new house which I hope you can help me. I just bought a 7 year old house with an East facing Direction (inside looking out). It has a good bright hall and the main gate is located to the left of the main door (NE) and when view in that direction from the main door, the pillar supporting the front porch is in the way. I consulted a feng shui master on this and he says that it is blocking wealth from coming in and suggest that I put a water feature at the foot of the pillar and also to grow creeper plants all the way up the pole. My other concern is that the kitchen is located on the SE corner with the Master Room is directly above it. The room is such that the only proper location for my bed is to be beneath the sink (head facing S) or beneath the stove which also places my bed below a window (head facing W). The feng shui master is also telling me that the direction from where the aircond wind is blowing also affects the feng shui of the room, but I find it rather ridiculous after hearing this. Both my husband and I share the same Kua #4. Hope you can advise me before I embark on a costly renovation (If the need for it should arise) Many thanks in advance. Maureen

Dear Joey: I recently bought your book on feng shui for home buyers (exterior & interior) and have extremely appreciated everything I learned. There is one question I have regarding the placement of kitchen/toilet. I read in one feng shui website that it you should not locate your kitchen in the NW sector. Is this true even if the NW sector is located in one of the 4 inauspicious sectors based on 8 Mansions? And is it also not good to locate the toilet and utilities room in the NW even if the NW is in the inauspicious sector of the house? Regards, Yeye

Dear Master Joey Yap, I am more interested in "Feng Shui" after attending your National Feng Shui Congress 2007 last month. I have alot of questions after reading few of your books which I purchased at your congress.

1. I got a mole located at "Tian Men" position and my friend got a mole on his nose which is the Wealth Palace location. I undertstand that the moles located at the respective location are no good. Would it help if we were to remove those moles ?

2. I try to get the house Flying Star from your web. But I do not know which year, month and day I should select to get the house Flying Star. I was staying in my sister's house since 2003 (Sale and Purchase Agreement dated 2001) and now my sister had sold the house to me in May 2007. My question is which year, month and day should I select to get the house Flying Star to calculate the house (door facing) which is suitable for me. Thanks.
