Question Posted: 18 Oct 2007 at 12:00:00 AM
Dear Joey, I've read your books on Exterior and Interior Feng Shui and I must say, Feng Shui has never been more logical. I have some concerns pertaining my new house which I hope you can help me. I just bought a 7 year old house with an East facing Direction (inside looking out). It has a good bright hall and the main gate is located to the left of the main door (NE) and when view in that direction from the main door, the pillar supporting the front porch is in the way. I consulted a feng shui master on this and he says that it is blocking wealth from coming in and suggest that I put a water feature at the foot of the pillar and also to grow creeper plants all the way up the pole. My other concern is that the kitchen is located on the SE corner with the Master Room is directly above it. The room is such that the only proper location for my bed is to be beneath the sink (head facing S) or beneath the stove which also places my bed below a window (head facing W). The feng shui master is also telling me that the direction from where the aircond wind is blowing also affects the feng shui of the room, but I find it rather ridiculous after hearing this. Both my husband and I share the same Kua #4. Hope you can advise me before I embark on a costly renovation (If the need for it should arise) Many thanks in advance. Maureen

Hi Maureen,

I don't think it's necessary to do major renovations. Doesn't sound like you have any serious Feng Shui problem. The bright hall should already be good enough to help collect the Qi. Unless the Pillar is DIRECTLY infront of your main door, i don't understand how it is blocking your Qi. And if really is, IMHO the creepy crawler plant is not going to help much.

Kitchen located in the SE sector for your house is fine. It's located in the right sector. I presume you meant the bedroom ABOVE the kitchen, with the bed directly ABOVE the Sink location below. If this is the case, there shouldn't be any problems. I don't see how the sink can affect your bed ONE STOREY up. Unless you are sleeping right next to the sink, I don't think you should be worried.

Warm Regards, JY
