The final episode presents a bit of a twist, as it doesn’t really focus on an Emperor’s tomb, but instead the tomb of an Empress. Viewers will remember her as being the ruthless Empress mentioned in Episode 6 – and she is none other than the Empress Dowager Ci Xi.

As wife of Xian Feng, Empress Dowager Ci Xi was the mother of his son, Tong Zhi. When Tong Zhi took over the throne after his father’s death, he was only six years old. As a result, his mother took over most of the decision-making by exerting power from behind-the-scenes, with Emperor Tong Zhi being the puppet being pulled by her strings.

Empress Dowager Ci Xi had control in this way for about 48 years, when the Qing Dynasty was already weakened by the continual threats of invasion it faced from Western powers. Also, there were quite a few internal disputes taking place at the time as people were aware of her underlying power, and many resented her influence due to the fact that she was a woman.

Let Joey show you why her final resting place is an example of less-than-ideal Feng Shui. The key factor is that the tomb is not located at a Meridian Spot, and also because there is something called the Peeping Tom Mountain – an intriguing name, with even more intriguing effects! Several other Landform factors combine together to create a less-than-ideal Feng Shui atmosphere in the area of the tomb, leaving a negative residual effect for the future of the Qing Dynasty.

Explore the vast implications of bad Feng Shui in Empress Dowager Ci Xi’s tomb in this episode, the exciting program finale of ‘Walking the Dragons with Joey Yap!’
