In this introductory episode, Joey explains the fundamentals of Feng Shui and explores its beginnings through the history of its practice from ancient-day China. While modern-day Feng Shui is primarily used to assess the external and internal surroundings of properties that house living beings, Feng Shui in its origins was primarily used for assessing the landforms and structures surrounding tombs and burial sites. In fact, one of the more famous and well-known texts on Feng Shui, The Burial Book, was written by Guo Pu during the Eastern Jin Dynasty. This book was primarily focused on being able to gather Qi in and around a burial site – an indication of how Feng Shui was originally implemented for Yin Houses (burial places) before it was also increasingly used for Yang Houses (houses for the living).

An exploration of the use of Yin House Feng Shui leads Joey to the observations of the connection between Yin and Yang (heaven and earth) and the harnessing of ‘wind’ and ‘water’ of the external environment (Feng Shui is directly translated to mean ‘Wind and Water’). Joey further explains and elaborates on some key concepts of Feng Shui in this episode, especially the significance of Mountains, Landforms, Water Formations, and Meridian Spots. The various mountain shapes and their corresponding meanings are then described in detail.

No discussion of Feng Shui is complete without taking into account its historical and cultural context, and for this episode Joey concentrates on the Qing Dynasty. The Qing Dynasty is of special interest – Joey will explain to you the reasons why the following generations did not do as well as the previous ones. The reasons are, as expected… tied to Feng Shui! Discover which of the tombs has good Feng Shui and which ones could do better, and what this meant for the descendants of the Qing Dynasty emperors.

Fascinating Feng Shui and the wonders of history prove to be an irresistible combination in Episode 1!

Hey Joey,
Is there a chance to view this online? Perhaps you can think of either publish it online or making it into DVD for sale. This type of show is very interesting and popular in demand but also very difficult to find in the market.
