| Q: |
Dear Joey,
I'm really fond of bazi, which has enormously helped me to improve my life and understand my inner self. I know there is alot to study and research in order to fully understand this startling world of metaphysics, so I would like to ask you for help to have a better understanding of this.
Well..My question is about lucky elements, transformation and dominant self.
According to what I've read and researched so far my lucky elements are water, metal and earth.
But, I read that also under certain type of circumstances a daymaster can become into a dominant self, and therefore, the favorable elements would be the opposite.
I would like to know if during 2014 I could become a dominant self because of the change of luck cycle and transformations that might take place during the year, and if June of that year would be a good month for performing and showing talents to an audience in order to gain recognition and fame.
Lastly, I would like to know what happens to the branch's main element after the transformation.
For instance, my two void branches dragon and snake can transform into metal because of the combination with the rooster, season of birth and the yang metal on the stem acting as a catalyst to make iit happen.
On the other hand, would the yang earth and yang fire of the dragon and snake respectively remain as metal or there would be still earth and fire as the main qi underneath?
Does the snake stand for competitors or money?
Thank you so much for your time and help,
Best regards,
Camilo

Dear Camilo,
According to the chart you provided, your favorable element is primarily WOOD. You are considered weak Fire. Even though you have 3 Ding fires on the Heavenly Stems. But in Classical BaZi, the strength of the chart is NOT determined by the "number" or quantity of an element. It is dependent on the QUALITY of an element.
Ding Fire born in the final mont hot autumn, a metal season, is considered Weak Fire. Ding Fire, all three of your Ding Fire needs WOOD continue burning.
2014 would be a year of opportunity and transformation for you.
Snake, for your chart, stands for friendly parties who bring wealth opportunities.
Warm Regards, Joey

| Q: |
I've been reading your Pure Feng Shui book and doing calculations using your site, in order to finally get some proper Feng Shui calculations done(wasted a lot of time with contradictory "new age" feng shui books before I realized they must be wrong if so full of errors--Cate Bramble set me on the proper path--Classical Feng Shui) in order to improve my "wealth" in life. (Health and Relationships are not issues at this time)
You mention that we have 33% Heaven/Man/Earth "Luck" and then I notice while laying out the palaces, pretty much all of my apartment/house(technically an apt, but each apt is separate building) except 2 palaces is "bad" and I looked at other charts in period 7 and 8 to see what an optimal house facing chart would be and notice that they all have at least 4 bad palaces(for wealth, 3/5, health, 2 sitting, etc.) which takes the 33% down to what, like 10%?
So, if my man luck is let's say at least 15%, and my Feng Shui luck is about 10%, then even if my Heaven luck is full 33%(which I'm sure it's not, so let's say at least 15%) or at least 15%, then I'm working with only 40% luck, or 55% if I fully optimize my "man luck."
If this is the case in general, how is anyone supposed to get anywhere? Am I missing something in my calculations? It doesn't seem to make sense to me that you would only use like 2 or 3 rooms in a house just to not activate the annual and facing/sitting stars--what's the point of having a house at that point?
(TL,DR:Feng Shui seems to have a minimal impact on your overall luck, limiting your use of your own house to 2 or 3 rooms, maybe 4 in most charts, so what's the point of having a house at all? (Am I figuring this wrong?)
Thanks for your time. - Sterling

Dear Sterling,
Thanks for reading my book. But yes, you are indeed seeing this in the wrong perspective.
You do not need to be so 'anal' about the percentages. They are merely a guide. It is not possible to precisely calculate the percentage of 'luck'.
Like wise there are no 'completely good or bad rooms. Each room, with it's own Facing / Sitting stars, have positive and negative traits. As long as the stars fit YOUR GOAL, it can be considered a good room.
For instance, you are in a Sitting Star #5 and Facing Star #1 room. Facing Star #1 is favorable for wealth. Using this as a study room (active room) is favorable because this utilizes the Facing Star #1. However, if you use this as a bedroom, you'd be using the "sitting star#5" and this would not be favorable. This is because bedrooms are considered YIN and the sitting star becomes the main focus. If you use this as STUDY ROOM, then it is an active room, the FACING STAR is the main focus.
So every room can be "utilized" in a favorable way.
Hope this helps.
Warm Regards,
JY

Dear Samantha,
Based on the chart you provided you still have not found the most compatible relationship yet. So take it easy with the current and do what you can to be best of friends.

Dear Theo,
I have not written any books on Zi Wei at the moment. Zi Wei and Ba Zi are two different systems of Chinese Astrology. Both are equally powerful. But accuracy depends on the experience of the practitioner.
the 10 Gods book - Destiny Code 3 and 4 are BaZi topics. If you are interested in BaZi, these books are great.
Warm Regards,
Joey
